About The Project Management College of Scheduling

Incorporated November 6, 2013

The Project Management College of Scheduling (PMCOS) is a dynamic organization of professionals dedicated to advancing the practice and profession of project planning and scheduling, and promoting the implementation of accurate, ethical schedules throughout the World.

The College provides a collaborative environment for professionals to promote excellence among themselves in planning and scheduling through networking, sharing project experiences and materials, providing and receiving training and mentoring leading to the development of a body of knowledge in the areas of planning and scheduling, and providing a resource for the newcomer to grow.

This website is the communication hub for our community, a focal point for sharing project scheduling related information and activities.  If you want to see upcoming events related to scheduling you will find it on the right side of the home page on the Upcoming Events calendar.  The Site Content menu link above is the platform for our content.  Members and visitors are encouraged to browse and to contribute their Media, Resource, and Vendor content to the community by emailing it to the Webmaster.

PM COS serves both the project management for hire community (construction, engineering, government…) where most of the projects are by contract and scheduling is done by professional schedulers, and the corporate internal project community where the projects are funded internally and most of the scheduling is done by project managers. The knowledge sharing potential within and between communities is significant. Both the seasoned professional and the novice will benefit.

If you believe you may benefit join us.  Annual dues are only $35 to encourage participation of both new and experienced schedulers. Your membership is an investment in, and sponsors, our joint future.  Presently we hold one symposium a year. As our membership grows we hope to enlarge that event, possibly do a second, and sponsor regional symposiums, webinars, and virtual roundtables.  There will be listings of upcoming live and virtual scheduling related events, prerecorded webinars, papers, and presentation slides from ours and other conferences for our members to access.

Each year since inception the board has added several of our most experienced schedulers to a Fellows advisory organization (now over 40) that meets once a year to help guide our programs.  This website is an output of their work and you will see a link to the list of Fellows on the Site Content Resource Fellows link.  Some Fellows have already enrolled in the “We are each other’s mentors” program.  Members can identify the skills they are interested in from the mentor’s description and establish a relationship, or contact the Webmaster to volunteer.

Our visitors and members will make this site a worthwhile endeavor for all of us.  Welcome.
